The Tkibuli Reservoir is an artificial lake located in the village of Akhalsopeli within the Tkibuli Municipality. It was created by an earth dam and features islands in its central and western parts. The reservoir is 8.1 kilometers long, covers an area of 12.1 square kilometers, and has a water volume of 84 million cubic meters. The reservoir is fed by the Tkibula River, its tributaries, and atmospheric precipitation. Its basin and surrounding areas consist of Jurassic and Cretaceous sandstone, clay, and limestone. The shoreline is predominantly low and gently sloping, contributing to the reservoir’s tranquil and scenic appeal.
